  • ABOUT CHATEAU TAYAC "PRESTIGE" - COTE DE BOURG (FRANCE)

Ruby red wine with a good intensity. Dark fruits and berries such as plum and blackcurrant. This wine has a nose exuding woody and spicy notes. Subtle aromas of dark berries, green pepper and smoke. Good acidity, this red is equipped with solid tannins, with a firm structure that ends in a long finish.

ABOUT BARON DE LEY "RESERVA" - TEMPRANILLO - RIOJA, (SPAIN)

This Rioja Reserva was aged for 20 months in french oak and shows lovely aromas of leather, cassis, burned earth and hints of ripe cherries and coconut. Polished, balanced and elegant with oaky-fruity flavours. The tannins are powerful, but well integrated and pair well with the typical Rioja-acidity. The palate is truly powerful with a pleasant sensation of volume and flavour.

ABOUT PENFOLDS KOONUNGA HILL SHIRAZ 2017

    Nose
Red mulberry and raspberry coulis are immediately observed.
Blueberry, bramble and earthy elements are offered with a little more encouragement.
Sweet paprika, possibly provided by supportive oak, overlays shiraz vibrancy and generosity.

    Palate
A steely and slatey texture surprises on the palate, being mentioned before fruit generosity.
Tannins are sleek and supple and oak lies beneath spice and berries, almost providing the foundations for them to be layered on top of.
A hallmark that seems to be emerging from the 2017 vintage … crunchy acidity that provides succulence.

    ABOUT PENFOLDS BIN 311 CHARDONNAY 2017 75cl

    Nose
Fresh and inviting – complexed by yeast lees-derived nougat and ground pistachio/almond/roasted chestnut.
Scents of deconstructed crème brûlée ‘(flamed top and custardy middle), enhanced by ripe white nectarine and peach fruits.
A liberal sprinkle of crushed rock/pebble dust (quartz, limestone?) certainly adds interest.

    Palate
A very lively palate of freshly sliced cucumber and lime citrus flavours hovering over a soft and succulent acid underpinning.
A tight phenolic grip induces wonderful length and drive to the finish. A cool climate regional trio – three different chardonnay expressions of texture/acidity/tightness/purity coalesce, propelling combined fruits/flavours.

ABOUT ESPINO BY WILLIAM FEVRE - CHARDONNAY

The nose is mineral with cooked pears and key lime. In the mouth, it is fresh with lemon sherbet, honey, a hint of saltiness with a round medium length finish. It has a certain touch of creaminess but it is anything but buttery.

    ABOUT JACOB'S CREEK RIESLING

    BOUQUET

Fragrant aromas of Granny Smith apples and Kaffir lime with hints of white florals.

    PALATE

The restrained palate shows lemon zest, juicy apples and rose petal flavours, with a pleasing minerality.
