ABOUT KOONUNGA HILL SHIRAZ CABERNET 2018
Nose
Lifted aromatics of red liquorice, fennel root and black rose prevail. Brooding red and black berry “Chambord” is peppered with dried sage, thyme and toasty oak notes.
Palate
Bright and textural with ripe blood plums, dark cherry and blackberries -amplified by tones of vanilla bean creaminess and warm spice. Dried rosemary and sage give the wine a sense of earthiness. Fine, elegant tannins which frame and capture fruit depth providing length and balance.

Flavours and Palate
A medium-bodied palate with rich dark plum and blueberry fruits melding with supple, varietal tannins. A hint of oak adds complexity and further richness to the palate, while the finish is smooth and long-lasting.

Nose
Lovely tropical fruits, Granny Smith apple skin and hints of Nashi pear with supportive creamy nougat/praline oak.
Wonderful integration of oak!
Palate
A very balanced palate, with 6 months yeast lees contact evident in the texture of the palate. The nougat/praline oak follows through with a crunchy citrus-like mouth watering acid to finish. A Chardonnay that’s not too ‘heavy’ showing a nice lightness to the palate.
